“If is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Dad passed away yesterday evening, He died peacefully in the care home after a long battle with dementia Dad was an avid supporter of LRFC from the early 60’s attending hundreds of matches both home and away. I know he greatly missed his Saturday afternoons both on the touchline and in the bar. He made so many friends both in Lewes and Blois through LRFC.
We will let you know the funeral details in due course.”
Terry Powell writes:
”Chris Durrant, one of our long standing Vice Presidents died last Wednesday. Although a non playing member he served on the Club Committee for many years and was one of the 'Movers and Shakers' in organising the highly successful Rugby Club Balls in the 1970-1980's which attracted400 people to dance to well known bands including Kenny Ball and Chris Barber and their Jazzmen.
Although Chris did not play for the Club, apart from an appearance for an occasional Ringmer XV organised by Micky Bell, his son David and Grandsons did play for the Club.
Our sincere condolences to Lesley, David and Samantha and their families."
